Once your deposit is received, we officially become your wedding coordinators, ready to start bringing your dream wedding to life.

R: Life happens, and we’re here to support you. If you need to reschedule or postpone your wedding, you have up to two years to select a new date, which will be accommodated based on availability. Your deposit will be applied toward the new date. Some vendor fees may apply depending on their individual policies, but we’ll handle the transition with care, empathy, and flexibility, ensuring your celebration can still be as magical as you envisioned.

R: Your full proposal balance must be paid in full one month before your wedding date. This ensures that all services, vendors, and coordination details are confirmed and secured well in advance, allowing us to execute your day seamlessly.

In the event that the wedding is canceled for unforeseen circumstances the Bride and Groom may use payment towards another date within a two year time lapse starting on the wedding date.

FAQs 18: What Documents Do I Need to Get Married in Belize?

R: Your Belize marriage license is internationally recognised and is required for a legal wedding. Here’s what you need to know:

  • Timing: Both parties must be in Belize at least three (3) working days before submitting the license application.

  • Special License: If you can’t be in the country for three days, a Special License can be obtained for an additional fee. Your officiant or coordinator will guide you through the process.

  • Documents Required:

    • If neither party was previously married: notarized application form, passport copy, and original birth certificate.

    • If either party was previously married: notarized application form, passport copy, original birth certificate, and original divorce decree.

    • If either party is widowed: notarized application form, passport copy, original birth certificate, and death certificate.

  • Submission & Officiant: Your officiant or coordinator submits the documents to the General Registry on your behalf. Your wedding will be conducted by a Justice of the Peace, and you will leave Belize with your Marriage License. Once formally processed, the license will be mailed to you.

Note: To avoid delays, all documents should be originals or certified copies with lifted seals. Processing requires either the standard 3-day presence or expedited Special License arrangements.

Yes, weddings in Belize are recognized and legal all over the world.

FAQs 21: What are the requirements for witnesses?

Two witnesses are required for any wedding ceremony, If you are travelling alone and cannot arrange witnesses the DBW team will be more than willing to assist. 

FAQs 22: What time do most weddings occur in Belize?

We recommend a 4:00pm to 4:30pm ceremony. This will allow post-ceremony photos to be taken by early sunset. However, we can accommodate setup and services to whichever time you request.

FAQs 23: Are there professional photographers & videographers in Belize?

Yes, there is! We work with only the best photographers & videographers. We are on a first-name basis with most photographers & Videographers therefore DBW can let you know about their availability within 24 hours.

FAQs 24 :What are the chances of rain or bad weather for my wedding in Belize?

A: Belize is blessed with a tropical climate, which means warm temperatures year-round and stunning backdrops for your celebration. The dry season, from late November to mid-April, offers the most reliable sunny weather, while the wet season, from May to November, brings occasional rain showers — often brief and refreshing — that can add a lush, vibrant touch to your photos.

FAQs 25: What type of Flowers are locally available?

We have a variety of flowers locally available; however, it will all depend on the season. To name a few, we have bougainvillaeas, gingers (red, white & pink), Heliconias, Ixoras, Orchids, Lobster Claw & delonix regia (Flamboyant Tree).
We can also provide imported flowers as long as they are in season, such as birds of paradise, roses, lilies & more; these require an extra fee.

FAQs 26: Can I bring down my own wedding decorations & favors?

Yes you can – Most brides only bring small customized favors as there are custom laws that will require you to pay taxes and duties on these items and/or they might be confiscated if they are deemed as commercial items
